Ended! Big waves are fun, in the Maldives, surfing is one of the enjoyable activities. The best season to surf in the Maldives is in between March to October. In this period, waves gets higher. March to April the waves are not that good to surf, in this month the North-East monsoon is about to end and the rainy season is about to begin. South-West monsoon (wet season) from May to October, during this period the waves getting higher and higher up to 7ft in the middle of this period, and the perfect site to surf is in the Northern Atolls and Central atolls.

Best guide for you to find a good spot for surfing is shown in the map, here you can see the map of Maldives that I divided into three. Wet season (Southwest Monsoon) in the Maldives is from April to December, the best spot for surfing are in the Central atolls and Northern atolls. During the dry season (Northeast Monsoon) which starts on December to March where the waves not that high, the best area for surfing in this period is in the Southern Atolls.

Maldives Surfing Season
There are two seasons in the Maldives the Dry season (Northeast Monsoon) from December to March and wet season (Southwest Monsoon) April to November. The best period to surf in the Maldives is in the month of May to October (South-West monsoon). A temperature in the Maldives throughout the year is almost same. In daily temperature record is in the range 31° Celsius in the morning time and 23° Celsius at the evening time.
